Addiction and Recovery Counselling

A supportive space to understand patterns, reduce harm, and regain a sense of control in everyday life.

Addiction and recovery counselling is about more than stopping a habit—it’s about rebuilding trust, managing emotions, and finding healthier ways to cope.

At The Shop, we create a space where men can open up honestly, without judgment, and start walking toward a stronger, steadier life.

Therapy can help you understand what’s driving the cycle, build healthier coping strategies, and reduce shame. The desired outcome is greater control, more stability, and the ability to choose healthier ways to cope and connect.

Symptoms

Addiction and recovery counselling supports men who feel stuck in patterns involving alcohol, substances, gambling, gaming, pornography, or other compulsive behaviours. It’s for those who feel things slipping out of control, are hiding habits from loved ones, or using these behaviours to cope with stress, numbness, or emotional pain. Recovery is not only about stopping a behaviour. It’s about rebuilding a life that makes change sustainable. In therapy, we work with you to understand what’s driving the cycle, strengthen healthier ways of coping, and reduce the shame that often keeps the pattern going. Together, we focus on creating structure, clarity, and support around the moments that matter most.
